Hiking & Orienteering for ALL

During the hike, participants explored Ineia’s unique landscape, including the impressive rock formations of Koratzi, Alykou, Gerakopetra, and Koneftis. The journey followed the 2.25 km linear “Aphrodite” Thematic Route, passing the chapels of Archangel Michael and Agios Iakovos, Esso Pigi, and the Great Well. Hikers crossed a nature observation bridge and visited the Koratzi climbing area—where routes are named after popular turtles—before heading to the Alykou climbing area. The trail then continued along dirt roads toward Gerakopetra, ending at the village central square.
The event continued with an orienteering activity designed to introduce participants to Innia village. Moving through the local streets, participants visited culturally significant sites such as the local churches, museums, the amphitheater, and the school. The activity also facilitated physical interaction with locals, offering participants valuable insights into the historical origins of the village and its strategic importance to the Akamas Municipality. Cypriot breakfast and coffee followed in the central square of the village, giving the participants the opportunity to relax and discuss their experiences. At the same time, the organizing team had a nice surprise in store for the winners of the event.
